Civil Design Engineer

Description

• Work closely with Project Managers to ensure design quality, timelines, and budgets are met.
• Prepare and review preliminary and detailed design drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Supervise and review work completed by junior engineers.
• Assist in the procurement and administration of construction contracts and site investigations.
• Support project delivery through technical design, documentation, and client coordination.
• Contribute to tender preparation and assessments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical and compliant engineering solutions.

Requirements

An exciting opportunity is available for a Design Engineer to join a growing civil and structural engineering team based in Galway. The role is ideal for an engineer with 3–6 years of experience and a Level 8 Honours Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• Understanding of construction contracts, particularly public works or similar frameworks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with design and analysis software such as MicroDrainage, ArcGIS, MapInfo, and Microsoft Project.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and willingness to develop in AutoCAD 3D and BIM tools (e.g., Revit).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
