  • Integration of technology in transit (real-time data, fare systems, ITS).
  • Mentor and guide junior planners and interdisciplinary teams on multimodal and transit planning practices.
  • Coordinate NEPA and PD&E processes for transit capital projects, including environmental and socioeconomic impact analyses.
  • Prepare and review grant applications, including FTA Small Starts/New Starts and other federal funding programs.
  • Manage public engagement and stakeholder coordination activities, ensuring equitable participation.
  • Manage transit ridership forecasting and travel demand modeling in coordination with regional partners.
  • Conduct route planning, scheduling, and service optimization studies using operational and ridership data.
  • Represent the firm/agency at meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Provide project management, including budgets, schedules, task assignments, and quality assurance.
  • Lead the development of transit corridor studies, multimodal plans, BRT and rail planning projects.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Transportation, Geography, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Preferred Certifications: AICP, PTP, or PMP.
  • Technical Skills: Transit planning tools (TransCAD, Remix, ArcGIS, EMME, Cube, or GTFS data analysis); familiarity with FTA processes; understanding of transit operations, scheduling, and fleet management; strong writing and presentation skills.
  • Multimodal corridor and complete streets design.
  • Experience: 20+ years of progressive experience in transit planning, multimodal transportation, or systems planning.
  • Climate resilience and sustainability in transit planning.
  • Equity and accessibility planning (Title VI, ADA, EJ).
