Tasks
π Present design justifications to nuclear safety committees π§ Apply advanced piping and process design principles in a nuclear/high-hazard environment π§Ύ Review and assess Periodic Safety Reviews and technical documentation π§ Produce and maintain EIMT (Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing) schedules π οΈ Manage and assess design changes and concessions Join Assystemβs dynamic, multi-disciplinary engineering team supporting one of our major client . As a Piping Engineer, youβll play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of infrastructure across major operational sites. π§© Develop and maintain Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents π¬ Provide expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders -π Present design justifications to nuclear safety committees -π§ Apply advanced piping and process design principles in a nuclear/high-hazard environment -π§Ύ Review and assess Periodic Safety Reviews and technical documentation -π§ Produce and maintain EIMT (Examination, Inspection, Maintenance & Testing) schedules -π οΈ Manage and assess design changes and concessions -π§© Develop and maintain Infrastructure Design Substantiation documents -π¬ Provide expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders

What You Bring
π§± Skilled in design assessment of plant and equipment to withstand hazards π€ Experienced in contributing to multi-disciplinary engineering projects Sole UK National, Security Clearance required to start. π§ Proficient in pipe stress analysis π Strong understanding of British & European design standards and best practices π― Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline π§Ύ Capable of producing robust technical justifications and documentation for design modifications in high-hazard industries ποΈ Experience in the UK nuclear industry (energy or defence), including safety-related structures, systems & components π Familiarity with HAZID/HAZOP and safety case development π© Proven experience as a Piping Engineer in industrial plant and machinery environments β’οΈ Willingness to complete a Nuclear Introductory Course within 6 months (if from a non-nuclear background) π Engineering Degree (BEng/MEng) β’οΈ Previous experience in high-risk or nuclear environments βοΈ Practical experience across concept, detailed design, and construction stages (preferably industrial or maritime projects) π Chartered Engineer (CEng) status π§βπ§ Incorporated Engineer status or equivalent experience π Knowledge of UK and US nuclear regulations, codes, and standards Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will require Security clearance.
