Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Assist in design using various types of CADD design software
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Support preparation of final design plans, calculations, and cost estimates.
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.

Experience using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoad
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
Preferred EIT License
Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Must have completed basic foundational courses: Intro to Engineering, Engineering Drafting Course.
Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
Must be 18 or older.
Current or incoming Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering Graduate program in the field of Structural Engineering.
Experience with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
Demonstrated interest in bridge design, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
BS Degree in Civil Engineering – Structural or related field.
Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering.
