- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
- Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
- Assist in design using various types of CADD design software
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Support preparation of final design plans, calculations, and cost estimates.
- Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.

- Experience using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoad
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
- Preferred EIT License
- Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.
- Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have completed basic foundational courses: Intro to Engineering, Engineering Drafting Course.
- Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Current or incoming Graduate student actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering Graduate program in the field of Structural Engineering.
- Experience with basic computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
- Demonstrated interest in bridge design, or related field, and have a strong desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering – Structural or related field.
- Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
- Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering.
