The Role

Overview

Lead and oversee EHS strategy, compliance, and safety culture across multiple manufacturing sites.

Tasks

-Develop and lead a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with corporate goals and regulatory requirements. -Maintain accurate EHS records and metrics across sites. -Drive consistent EHS practices, standards, and tools across SUV and WEB Technologies plants. -Set division-wide EHS goals and KPIs; monitor and report progress regularly to senior leadership. -Lead site audits, inspections, and assessments; identify gaps and corrective actions. -Analyze trends in incident reports, near misses, and compliance data to guide improvement initiatives. -Partner with HR, Legal, Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance on cross-functional safety initiatives. -Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, state/local). -Integrate EHS practices into business continuity, quality, and supply chain programs. -Prepare and present monthly and quarterly EHS performance reports to executive leadership. -Manage and mentor a team of EHS managers, coordinators, and specialists across multiple sites. -Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development within the EHS function. -Serve as primary liaison with regulatory agencies and manage external audits or enforcement actions. -Support capital projects and product innovations by ensuring EHS is embedded in planning and execution phases. -Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, including: -Serve as the subject matter expert and advisor to executive and plant leadership teams on all EHS matters.

What You Bring

-Heat illness prevention and safe work practices near high-temperature equipment (e.g., paper machine dryers) -Proven ability to lead and inspire EHS teams, drive culture change, and deliver measurable results. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable presenting to executive leadership and external agencies. -Emergency preparedness and response -Certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or PE highly desirable. -Incident investigation and root cause analysis -Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. -Experience in building materials, roofing, pulp/paper, or high-temperature manufacturing is highly preferred. -Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT, and state/local regulations. -Minimum 10+ years of progressive EHS experience, with at least 5 years in a multi-site leadership role in a manufacturing environment.
