Overview
Oversee financial management, reporting and risk for a multi‑billion rail upgrade project

Tasks
-Ensure Management reporting activities are aligned with organization goals and objectives across the sector. Provide accurate and accessible management information for all key stakeholders with a range of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports. Including clients with accurate spend forecasts for budget management purposes. -Delivery of efficient and effective operational financial management in support of the overall strategy and performance objectives of the Project. -Periodic review of internal CTE rates and external sales rates in line with commercial agreements. Exploring cost recovery opportunities through different costing methods. -Manage or co-ordinate end to end O2C, P2P and R2R activities within the area to ensure best practice is embedded. -Develop and maintain reporting to support business decisions and risk mitigation, key areas being P&L, cash and orderbook. -Work closely with key business partners to create and maintain key financial and scenario based models which support strategic business decisions. e.g. key customer/framework bids. Carry out partner and client risk assessments for the division during the tender stage gate process. Rate Management – periodic review of internal CTE rates and external sales rates in line with commercial agreements. Exploring cost recovery opportunities through different costing methods. -Co-ordinate project cash flow forecasts with monthly WIP and debt reviews to improve/maintain working capital. Support application for payment and end to end O2C activities. Managing the JV bank account and application processes as appropriate. -Provide comprehensive, high quality analysis to aid and support business decision making with focus on the use, rather than preparation, of data. -Timely and accurate completion of budgets and forecasts with comprehensive trend and KPI analysis including management of financial risk and opportunity registers. -Responsible for a large program or multiple programs under a framework. -Ensure that Group and Segment specific financial and commercial procedures and policies are complied with. -Operate as a key member of the Project or Framework Management Team, and wider finance community. -Understand information, data and content in a digital environment & can develop and manage decisions and choices that align to an organisations data strategy and business strategy. Can check data from multiple sources, define appropriate metrics and measures and develop analytics in applications. Apply knowledge to existing (and develop new) visualization solutions and dashboards for specific business techniques. -Achievement of month-end deadlines demonstrating accurate accounting records and internal controls. Ensure strict adherence to revenue recognition policy and processes throughout -Providing challenge and support as part of the Senior Leadership during project reviews & monthly and quarterly financial reviews.

What You Bring
-Experience of functional roles within large complex projects and programmes -Some experience of developing strong internal and external relationships to drive individual and business performance. -Qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA -Very good understanding of the management systems, policies and processes that underpin a successful large complex enterprise. -Good awareness of and ability to actively engage with specialist and communicate risk and opportunity around enterprise risk management, BRF and controls. -Good awareness of and ability to actively engage with specialist and communicate risk and opportunity around corporate finance, bonds & guarantees, financial logistics, structured finance and Investment tenders. -Awareness of the political, business and economic issues affecting customers and the market. -Experience of finance roles in large complex projects or frameworks. -Demonstrates an understanding of pricing, programme & cost management and negotiation, customers' needs around fees, and debt management. Can explain contractual terms to others, understands and acts on KPIs. -Knowledge and evidence of business planning, cost management (CTC), management reporting, statutory accountability & investment and accounting principles. Excellent knowledge on Accounting guidelines and IFRS & external reporting. -Build relationships and improve collaboration with program/framework leadership teams & operations and commercial (Commercial assistants & QS) teams. Demonstrating strong understanding of project financial performance and associated key project risks & opportunities. -Very good knowledge of sector related markets and regulatory environment. -Knowledge and evidence of setting a strategic agenda, portfolio & performance analysis and business case and capex analysis. Potentially some M&A experience. -Some experience of supporting and influencing alongside management & leadership teams in developing & delivering to strategy & business plans. -Good understanding and experience of critical finance transactional operations and underlying control points and best practice. -Knowledge and evidence of project budgeting & forecasting & reporting; risk and opp management & cash forecasting (project). -Good awareness of and ability to actively engage with specialist and communicate risk and opportunity around tax strategy and filling, accounting, transfer pricing, JV's, indirect and payroll taxes and supply chain tax liabilities.
