Tasks
-Creating and reviewing Protection & Control detailed designs and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra-high-voltage utility substations -Leading project teams and interfacing with the customer to deliver a quality product by the scheduled delivery date -Perform detailed design of one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling -Leading, planning, and coordinating projects with limited supervision -Understanding and delivering results based on client-specific standards and requirements -Creating and reviewing detailed designs of Communication or Integration One-Line Diagrams and Front view Panel Diagrams for integrating substation protective relaying with utility specific RTU/ Remote Access / SCADA, managed switches and LAN Communication Equipment. -Act as the OE (Owner’s Engineer) responsible for reviewing designs and supplying the design team with the requested information to complete a project -Training and developing junior personnel -Occasional travel will be required - Field support including Walk-downs, Site Visits, And “As-Built” support -Reviewing current industry best practices to ensure best in class protection philosophy and compliance with cyber security requirements

-Unless otherwise noted, we do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position. -B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. -Experience filling the role of substation design engineer for several projects occurring concurrently -Experience with substation relays and equipment manufacturers such as SEL, GE, Beckwith, electromechanical relays, Ruggedcom switches, and Cimplicity HMIs -Registered PE (Professional Engineer) preferred -Strong knowledge of engineering theory, practices, and procedures -Experience in power protection, relay design, and planning, or substation design and telecom integration -Experience with Document Control or Document Management preferred. -Must be 18 years of age or older. -Familiarization or experience with various New England utilities and their associated P&C standards and procedures preferred -All job offers are subject to pre-employment drug screening and a background check. -Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation software preferred -6+ years of experience in relay/protection engineering or related industry required. -Engineer In Training (EIT) registration preferred
