The Role

Overview

Coordinate and manage EHS programs at EPS plants in Canada.

Tasks

-Oversee all yearly updates to the safety program, including the Safety Manual, Injury Illness Prevention Plan, Emergency Procedures Manual, and the Emergency Contingency Plan -Ensure that all corrective actions and recommendations are completed and communicated within the expected timeframe. Examples include the following: incident investigation actions, audit findings, maturity assessments, and safety committee meetings. -Review and update the EHS policies and procedures in accordance with Company policies and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines. -Maintain WHMIS and GHS requirements for hazard communication and keep MSDS current. -Resource expert on EHS regulatory requirements, corporate policies and procedures and the and adoption into SOP’s and WI’s. -Keep records of all employee training, corrections of unsafe conditions, and dates and results of workplace inspections. Maintain and submit documentation as required. -Maintain all hazardous material and hazardous material area checks -Coordinate Industrial Hygiene surveys as required (air, noise, ergonomics, etc.) -Oversee the EHS programs and initiates activities that will improve the level of personnel safety and health and environmental compliance. -Follow incident management processes and conduct timely incident investigations and ensure timely reporting. -Maintain all weekly, monthly, and yearly safety inspections -Ensure required EHS documentation is completed for all new processes, materials, and equipment including SOPs, JSA’s, and LOTO procedures. -Develop and administer EHS training for all employees (if required, including outside sales personnel, office, etc.) -Review safety related documents and narratives such as Safety Committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift inspection checklists, accident investigation reports, and near miss reports -Create and execute employee training programs to reduce operational risks. -Management representative for ISO 14001 / 9001 certifications

What You Bring

-Effective written and verbal communication skills. -Experience in provincial regulations, Process Safety Management requirements, and ISO standards -Process Safety Management experience preferred -Experience with formal problem solving and root cause analysis. -Matching RRSP -Seven years proven experience in EHS in a manufacturing setting without a Bachelor’s degree. -Ability to function in a team environment, work well with others, handles multiple priorities and projects as necessary. -Minimum of valid certification for Standard Intermediate First Aid -Data analysis skills. -Bachelor's degree preferred in environmental science, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, engineering, or related fields. Three years proven experience in EHS. -Strong proficiency in MS Office, Benchmark operation a plus.
