Manage on-site construction of substations, ensuring safety, quality and budget.

Tasks
-Ensure assurance activities (audits) are undertaken and take appropriate action on findings -Maintain accurate and timely project records and documentation. -Write RAMS and accept subcontractor RAMS -Maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc.) -Support Accident/Incident Investigations -Attend periodic project reviews (PRM) and update the Digital Briefcase in accordance with GBL -Help to develop, implement and update resource allocation plans (OBS) and raise appropriate requests -Support the Project Manager/Director to achieve project goals. -Upkeep of welfare requirements -Deliver a quality product -Balance project constraints including time, cost, quality, scope, risk, and benefits to meet client expectations. -Helps to ensure reports provide relevant information to enable informed, cost effective decisions in line with overall strategy -Implement technical information and drawings into delivery -Helps to ensure scope and package assignment supports the team in coordinated working -Understand, control and issue safety documentation -Coordinate with other project activities and internal functions -Foster a positive team culture and support the wellbeing and development of staff on-site. -Promote behavioural safety -Management of subcontractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that contractual arrangements are achieved -Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders -Carry out periodic Safety & Environmental Tours/promote observation and safety initiatives -Ensure sufficiency and competency of workforce -Reinforce golden rules -Plan and ensure delivery to programme -Two way communication e.g. brief out weekly safety pack -Lead and manage all site-based construction activities. -Identifying, raising and reporting risks and hazards -Monitor compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. -Monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement improvement solutions -Partially responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees and supply chain -Follow targets/KPI’s in line with project objectives and monitor performance -Provide partial accountability for all project phases: initiation, planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning, and handover. -Oversee and optimise site resources and workforce. -Help to ensure procurement plans are available in line with the overall project plans, such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines -Act as a change agent, inspiring and leading a multi-disciplinary team towards a shared vision. -Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are utilised efficiently to ensure cost control -Communicate new concepts and ideas to non-technical stakeholders -Identify and drive personal development -Deliver works safely, compliantly, on time, and within budget. -Motivate and empower the team using the resources available through training, mentoring and performance management. -Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation

What You Bring
-Experience in implementing safe systems of work -Able to undertake work in high pressure situations with a flexible attitude -Holds a current driving license -Initiates good scope/information/configuration management principles -Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation -Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts -Proficient on O365 -Proficient in commercial/project management communications -Knowledge and experience of discipline -A record of a solutions-based approach to problem solving -Numerical skills -Good interpersonal skills that enable working relationships to be developed at all levels across the business and be able to negotiate and influence -Holds CSCS and SSSTS or Equivalent -Effective personal and social skills -Experience in managing risks and change processes -Understand and specify plant and equipment requirements -Discuss ideas and plans competently -Experience of working on a variety of project types -Communicate and check understanding of daily briefings
