Tasks

-Review paving project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine scope of work. -Solicit and evaluate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers for paving, grading, and related work. -Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and bid reviews to understand project requirements and constraints. -Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers -Prepare complete and competitive bid proposals and budgets for paving projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company standards. -Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to support repeat business. -Occasionally adjusting, moving, and lifting objects in all directions -Maintain up-to-date knowledge of paving materials, labor costs, equipment rates, and market trends. -Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analysis for asphalt, concrete, base materials, and related construction activities. -Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. -Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Operations teams to align proposals with client expectations and project feasibility. -Analyze project constructability, schedule, and risks, recommending cost-saving or value-engineering solutions when appropriate. -Occasionally seeing to perform job duties at a distance, such as operating office equipment -Attend trade shows, pre-bid conferences, and industry events to strengthen market presence and generate leads.

What You Bring

-Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, B2W, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). -Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and technical drawings. -Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks at a worksite or moving from one worksite to another -Rarely operating machinery and/or power tools -Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present proposals clearly to clients. -Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. -Constantly talking and hearing to communicate with others -Minimum of 5–7 years estimating experience in asphalt and concrete paving projects. -Ability to work under pressure and meet strict bid deadlines. -Demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, collaboration, and a solution-oriented attitude. -Occasionally the ability to travel regionally or nationally -Rarely heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more -Proven ability to prepare detailed cost estimates for projects ranging from $250K to $10M+. -Constantly seeing to perform job duties at close range, such as monitors or screens -Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). -Rarely light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds -Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods -Strong understanding of paving construction methods, materials, and industry standards. -Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. -Rarely ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like -Rarely medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds -Must comply with company drug and alcohol testing requirements. -Occasionally move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, such as stooping, kneeling, or crouching
