The Role

Overview

Install and test natural gas distribution systems for new construction projects.

Tasks

-Ensures the truck has current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insurance. -Inspect, examine, and test installed systems and pipelines using pressure gauges, observation, and other methods. -Plan pipe system layout, installation, and repairs according to specifications listed on blueprints. -Works safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and dump trucks -Complete daily paperwork in an accurate manner -Drives commercial vehicles equipped to transport a variety of materials and equipment. -Installation of new plastic PVC & steel gas main services -Signal’s equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials. -Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading. -Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. -Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications by welding, brazing, soldering, etc.

What You Bring

-Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. -Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, grasp, push, pull and reach on a frequent basis throughout the day. -2-3 years of experience with fusing/welding methods and techniques -Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen. -2-3 years of experience in the construction, underground or gas distribution industry -Must be able to lift-up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis. -Valid DOT Medical Card required. -Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment. -CDL Class A license with tanker endorsement preferred. -Time management skills -Required to travel out of town to work on projects of varying length approximately 10% of the time.
