Tasks

-Prepare and present quarterly reports to the Valuations Committee, summarizing current valuation activities, key market movements, property performance trends, and strategic recommendations. These reports should include updates on ongoing tax appeals, changes in assessed values, portfolio revaluations, and any factors materially impacting asset valuations or financial forecasts. -Strategically position valuations to optimize property tax outcomes while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, appraisal standards, and accounting policies. -Lead and oversee all valuation activities for the company’s real estate portfolio, including periodic internal valuations, third-party appraisals, and acquisition analyses. -Maintain comprehensive documentation of valuation assumptions, methodologies, and outcomes for audit and regulatory purposes. -Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Leasing, Development, Operations, and ownership to ensure valuation inputs reflect current and projected asset performance. -Analyze market conditions, capitalization rates, and comparable sales to provide management with insights that support portfolio strategy and decision-making. -Provide valuation analysis and support for acquisitions and dispositions, including due diligence review and integration of newly acquired assets. -Identify opportunities to enhance valuation accuracy and efficiency through data analytics, automation tools, and process improvements. -Partner with external appraisers, assessors, and tax consultants to manage valuation processes, coordinate documentation, and manage property tax appeals.

What You Bring

-Position requires occasional travel for meetings, site visits, or training as needed. -Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving abilities. -Experience with property tax assessments, appeals, and valuation positioning strategies preferred. -Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in real estate valuation, appraisal, or financial analysis—preferably within retail, shopping center, or commercial development sectors. -Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or related field. -Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across departments.
