The Role

Overview

Assist accounting dept with daily reconciliations, reports, and purchase orders.

Tasks

-Cross train with other team members for a general understanding of job duties and responsibilities. -Enforce 100% staff compliance with uniform and grooming standards. -To assist the accounting department with the necessary support and back up to ensure the department fulfils its commitment to timely and accurate financial reporting. -Daily reconciliation of all bank account. -Report issues to assistant controller. -Investigate variations in income journals and actual deposited to bank accounts. -Check periodically each day on any and all special project work. -Generate all department purchase orders and forwards same to assistant controller for approval. -Provides service in a highly professional manner at all times. -Assist the assistant controller/controller with information retention and storage. -Prepare assigned schedules for the department and forwards same to assist controller for approval. -Prepare any reports as requested by asst controller and controller. -Complete associate safety training in compliance with franchise procedures, regulations and Accounting Assistant. -Interact with fellow associates in a courteous and professional manner. -Assist with month end inventories in a timely and accurate manner. -Report unsafe work conditions/practices and safety/security violations in accordance with company policy. -Review department office supply needs and purchase. -Ensure that all guest requests you receive are satisfied in a timely and efficient manner. -Attended daily pre-shift and weekly staff meeting.

What You Bring

-Ability to interact with hotel guests and staff in a courteous and professional manner. -Exposure to scheduling, purchase orders processing, and expense control systems preferred. -Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. -Willingness to receive development and supervisory training. -Basic understand of accounting principals. -Team building and motivational skills. -Demonstrated computer skills. -Ability to multi-task within specific time constraints. -Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends. -Excellent English verbal and written communication skills. -Good attitude and work ethic practices. -Education –Degree in related field preferred. -Experience – One year experience in related field preferred.
