Ability to apply hydraulic modelling outputs to define and design civil engineering infrastructural elements to meet project objectives.
Level 8 degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering or related discipline. A post graduate Level 9 Masters would be advantageous.
Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications; MS Office (MS Word and MS Excel.
Membership of a professional body such as Engineers Ireland or Institution of Civil Engineers
Ability to undertake a key technical role responsible for full hydraulic model output delivery.
Experience working on multi-disciplinary projects collaboratively with engineering, planning and environmental professionals
Candidates should have a proven ability to deliver project and tasks to a high quality, on time and within budget.
You will have proven relevant experience in the design/delivery of one or more of the following – flood risk assessment & management, flood defence infrastructure, surface water collection & management systems.
You will have excellent working knowledge and understanding of flood hydrology and hydraulic processes.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clients, suppliers and other RPS staff.
Knowledge and experience in the use GIS software in QGIS or Arc.
You will be project focussed, proactive and independent, and able to provide a supporting project management role.
In addition to a high level of competency in Infoworks ICM experience with FloodModeller, Estry, TuFlow, HEC-RAS 1D/2D or similar models would be beneficial.
Experience in providing specialist technical knowledge and advice on hydraulic modelling issues to project team members.
Experience in the use of civil engineering design packages e.g., CAD, Civil 3D.
Able to approach all your tasks in a diligent, professional and organised manner;
Aptitude to work independently to support effective and timely delivery of projects
A detailed understanding of Flood Risk Management Methods, Nature-based Solutions and wider catchment, river and drainage processes.
Able to produce high quality reports, presentations and deliverables to clearly communicate complex issues, demonstrate logically analysis and provide robust justification design decisions and statements made.
Working experience of economic appraisal of projects and plans, using CBA and MCA techniques would be beneficial
Have a strong knowledge and experience of applying thorough QA principles in hydraulic modelling to ensure results are fit for delivery.
You will have significant experience in open channel and network hydraulic modelling within Infoworks ICM and a strong knowledge of model application to solving real world problems.
