Slr Consulting

The Role

Overview

Develop and analyze Goldsim water quality models for mine water management.

Key Responsibilities

  • geochemical modeling
  • water quality modeling
  • data management
  • project lead
  • technical reporting
  • goldsim modeling

Tasks

-Collaborate with geochemists to acquire relevant geochemical data and develop geochemical source terms. -Collaborate with surface water balance and groundwater modellers to identify and integrate touch-points between these models which may be developed concurrently. -Organize, manipulate, and evaluate large water quality databases. -Contribute to planning and implementing water quality projects including development of monitoring programs, tabulation of monitoring data, conducting QA/QC, presentation of results in tabular and graphical formats, and preparing reports. -Collaborate to integrate water quality monitoring data and modelling results into engineering studies, environmental assessments, and management plans. -Support and/or lead multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations, with responsibility for models and other project deliverables meetings expectations for quality and technical excellence. -Prepare comprehensive technical reports documenting modelling methodology, input parameters, results, and potential environmental effects. -Develop water quality and/or geochemical models using Goldsim®, PHREEQC, or spreadsheet methods, as applicable to the project to support engineering design, permitting, operational optimization, and site reclamation.

Requirements

  • goldsim
  • water modeling
  • 3+ years
