The Role

Overview

Perform traffic analysis, signal design, and transportation planning for projects.

Tasks

-Signal & Intersection Design: Design traffic signals, roadway signage, pavement markings, and intersection improvements following NJTA, NJDOT and MUTCD standards. -Transportation Planning & Studies: Develop traffic control plans, detour plans, and transportation management strategies for public and private sector projects. -Plan Development & Software Utilization: Prepare technical drawings and design plans using CAD software, with a preference for MicroStation. -Traffic Analysis & Modeling: Conduct traffic impact studies, capacity analysis, and safety evaluations using industry-standard software. -Regulatory Compliance & Permitting: Prepare reports, design documents, and permit applications to ensure compliance with NJTA, NJDOT, MUTCD, AASHTO, and local transportation agencies.

What You Bring

-Experience: 4+ years of relevant experience in traffic engineering, including signal design, roadway safety analysis, and transportation planning. -Technical Skills: Proficiency in traffic analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, VISSIM) and CAD software (MicroStation preferred). -Licenses & Certifications: PE and PTOE required. -Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related field. -Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with NJTA, NJDOT, MUTCD, AASHTO, and local traffic engineering standards and guidelines.

Benefits

Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 / year
