The Role

Overview

Design and coordinate transportation projects (roads, bridges, traffic) using CAD tools

Tasks

-Provide technical writing input to proposals, feasibility studies, design criteria and other reports. -Work with clients and attendance at meetings is required. -Coordinate in a multi-disciplinary and collaborative team environment. -Contribute to planning, preliminary design and detail design for interesting infrastructure projects. -Develop practical applications of engineering principles and ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations and standards. -Prepare specifications. -Produce plans, 3D models and 2D drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or MicroStation & InRoads. -Gather and record information to be used for cost estimating. -Conduct site inspections & investigations during design development process. -Prepare detailed engineering drawings (plans, profiles, sections, and miscellaneous details) with limited to high complexity in support of broader engineering activities. -Interfacate and manage civil engineering sub disciplines such as drainage, traffic, geotechnical, survey and others.

What You Bring

-Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. -Strong written and verbal communication skills. -Methodical approach to problem solving. -Experience with AutoCAD & Civil 3D. -Knowledge of current trends and technologies in transportation engineering. -Initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently. -Experience with Bentley MicroStation/InRoads/OpenRoads. -At least a year of experience in road, transportation, or transit design.
