The Role
Overview
Manage community engagement and stakeholder relations for energy infrastructure projects.

Tasks
-Ensure timely and appropriate communication of project information through suitable channels, including websites, social media, and printed materials. -Provide community input during emergency situations (e.g. storms), ensuring effective communication with relevant parties. -Develop and deliver communication and community engagement strategies to support project development and delivery. -Manage and update project websites and other digital platforms. -Collaborate with project teams and external partners to minimise disruption through clear, proactive communication, reducing customer complaints. -Foster long-term positive relationships with communities across the transmission network. -Maintain and update the SPT Community Tracker, ensuring accurate data for KPI reporting. -Contribute to project reviews, identifying and implementing lessons learned. -Represent the organisation at community meetings, events, and presentations to share project updates and gather feedback. -Produce content for internal and external publications, including articles, social media posts, and video updates. -Draft responses to community and stakeholder enquiries or complaints related to major projects. -Build and maintain strong relationships with key community stakeholders, including local authorities, landowners, and interest groups. -Organise and support proactive engagement activities such as drop-in sessions, agricultural shows, gala days, and PR initiatives (e.g. video content).

What You Bring
-Understanding of business drivers and how community engagement supports organisational goals. -High standard of written communication. -Excellent stakeholder and community engagement skills. -Influencing and negotiation capability. -Ability to produce clear reports and statistics for management use. -Skilled in conflict resolution and negotiation, with the ability to manage sensitive or challenging situations. -Experience with planning consents, wayleaves, and construction-related community engagement. -Capable of managing competing priorities and making sound decisions under pressure. -Proven experience in community relations or stakeholder engagement roles. -Knowledge of health and safety practices and awareness of Net Zero objectives and their impact on communities. -Full UK driving licence. -Experience working in project environments, particularly within infrastructure or energy sectors. -Ability to build and maintain stakeholder networks, internally and externally. -Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels. -Strong presentation and interpersonal abilities.
