Tasks
TXM Recruit are exclusively representing a railway business to recruit an experienced and motivated Quantity Surveyor / NEC Contract Administrator to join our team within the UK railway sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing commercial and contractual elements of projects delivered under the NEC suite of contracts, ensuring effective cost control, risk management, and compliance across the project lifecycle. -Prepare and manage cost plans, cash flow forecasts, and valuations. -Draft and manage early warnings, compensation events, and contract communications. -Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts, including Options A, C, and E. -Monitor project budgets and provide accurate cost reporting. -Monitor and manage change control processes. -Support final account settlements. -Contribute to risk and opportunity identification and mitigation. -Liaise with project teams, engineers, and suppliers to ensure accurate cost and contract -Maintain accurate records and audit trails for commercial activities. -Support procurement, including tender evaluation and contract award. -Evaluate contractor applications and manage payments in accordance with contract terms. -Ensure adherence to Network Rail, HS2, or client-specific commercial procedures. -Assist in preparing and reviewing subcontractor agreements. -Attend site meetings, progress reviews, and commercial discussions.

What You Bring
-Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field. -Strong working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts (essential). -Familiarity with rail standards, safety requirements, and commercial best practices. -Experience with major UK rail clients such as Network Rail, HS2, or Tier 1 contractors. -Proven experience working as a QS / Contract Administrator on UK rail infrastructure projects. -Membership of RICS, ICES, or equivalent (preferred).
