The Role

Overview

Design, integrate, and support electronic security systems for various clients.

Tasks

-Communicate with customers, manufacturers, vendors and system administrators -Read and interpret engineering drawings -Interface with internal and external customers -Analyze and modify preventive maintenance checklists for system changes -Using advanced knowledge of networking principals and system administration skills to troubleshoot systems and operating systems -Ensure test lab equipment is maintained -Coordinate with field personnel and/or engineering team to discuss any potential installation issues -Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. -Perform desktop hardware and operating system set-up, imaging software loading, and antivirus updates -Conduct in depth research and evaluate the research of Technical Specialists in order to evaluate existing and future systems -Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision -Troubleshoot system performance issues and implement corrective actions -Organize and prepare detailed documentation of system performance, including service request records and analysis -Interface with engineering team to ensure design efficiency -Analyze system performance and recommend improvements -Identify and understand the speech of another person. -Train system users and other system support personnel -Conduct research and development on new system manufacturers (i.e. access control, intrusion detection and closed circuit television systems). -Answer support calls to help field personnel and system administrators with any installation issues encountered on the job site -Provide support to the system administration team -Provide on site system support post deployment -Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction. -Conduct research and development of entire systems and analyze all interoperability and constructability scenarios

What You Bring

-Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. -Associates with 8+ years of experience or -Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. -Communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand. -Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years experience or -Understand SOP and SOW documentation -Master's Degree with 3+ years experience -Read blue prints, schematics and statements of work (SOW). -Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends -High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems or -Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS -Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer -System administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving the system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, and implementing new workstations and system extensions -Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time. -Vendor certifications for electronic systems preferred -Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard. -Open and transparent communication with senior leadership as well as local office management.
