Tasks
-Conduct analyses of artifacts and features. -Manage archaeological resources and where necessary, develop plans and approaches to optimize the personnel / teams efficiency. -Conduct field work, participate in meetings and develop compliance strategies -Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity as needed -Provide strategic Section 106 support and guidance for complex cultural resources projects. -Develop proposals and assist in managing the scope schedule, and budget for cultural resources projects. -Coordinate and consult with state/federal agencies and Indian Tribes -Plan, organize and supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed -Take responsibility for conducting archaeological surveys, investigations, and site evaluations, and developing reports, findings, and management or mitigation plans.

What You Bring
-Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and analytical skills -Successful candidates must be familiar with field study design and documentation, regulatory framework for cultural resource management, and GIS utilities -Master’s degree strongly preferred. -Requires ability to travel -GIS skills for data acquisition and interpretation preferred (experience with ArcGIS online and ESRI ArcPro -Willingness to lead, manage, and develop a growing team of cultural resources professionals in New England -Secretary of Interior Qualified -Team player with strong ability take initiative and solve problems using sound judgment -Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, Architectural History or closely related field -Excellent oral and written communication skills -Excellent communication and client interaction skills -Ability to travel to a location, walk and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, or at high altitudes, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds is required -Demonstrated capability to successfully manage projects, scope, schedule and budget. -Current valid driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a vehicle on rugged, backcountry roads is required -Can obtain state archaeologist permits throughout New England States -Candidates who reside locally to HDR’s Providence, RI office are preferred. -Strong understanding of Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the process for identifying and evaluating archaeological sites and resolving adverse effects. -Strong leadership and supervision abilities, including problem solving, constructive conflict resolution, and decision making -Proven proposal development and client management skills
