The Role

Overview

Maintain and troubleshoot automated warehouse material handling systems.

Tasks

-Communicate with various parties on the work performed and present status of specialty systems -Solving complex errors in an ACP system -Reporting of executed maintenance activities -Responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical components such as motors, motor-gearbox assemblies, rollers, bearings, shafts, sprockets -Interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system -Attending to call outs, faults, alarms, and warnings and monitor system from the Control Room -Technician I will be relied upon for troubleshooting support for non-routine problems in the material handling system. -Responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical control components such as; photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, encoders, variable frequency drives -Replacements of machine spare parts -Execution of preventive maintenance (both electrical and mechanical) -Analysis of system errors

What You Bring

-Experience with electrical schematics / wiring diagrams -Warehouse Operations experience -Relevant vocational and / or technical qualifications -Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills -Working knowledge of computers and equipment -Compliance with all Vanderlande programs, policies, and procedures -Experience of supporting automated systems with a proficient level of electro- mechanical skills -Electrical fault-finding and fault-rectification skills, including the replacement and configuration of field devices (inverters, sensors, scanners etc.) -Valid Driver license -Flexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs -Skilled in the use of standard electrical test instruments -Mechanical fault-finding and fault-rectification skills (gearboxes / bearings / sprockets / drives etc.) -Knowledge of use of hand tools, precision measuring and testing instruments -Ability to solve problems under pressure -Conveyor services or material handling services experience -Ability to read diagrams, electrical drawings, operation manuals and manufacturers specifications -Reporting of problems and maintenance activities that need attention -Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical (motors, electrical circuits, SICK ATR systems, and other material handling equipment) and controls (Siemens) systems
