Tasks

-Assists Estimating Department as needed to facilitate teamwork -Defines major or priority subcontractors -Assigns and reviews all work scopes and helps as needed to meet deadlines for bid and negotiated projects -Leads and completes multiple 15M+ projects at a time -Leads the conceptual budgeting and preconstruction portion of the Procurement Process -Participates in owner interviews and leads presentations of estimates and proposals to sell our efforts -Establishes, writes, and reviews work scopes for subcontractors -Utilizes Subcontractor and Field production Data to establish database pricing -Monitors coverage with the plans coordinators and solicits new subcontractors to bid -Directs Plans Coordinators for vendor/subcontractor pricing/bid solicitation and coordination using SmartBid -Assists operations staff on project logistics, staging, phasing plans, and coordination -Reads and outlines project specifications -Reviews estimates for accuracy, constructability, and risks -Discusses and establishes bid strategies, concerns, and advantages -Conducts pre-bid meetings with MHC Operations personnel and Subcontractors as needed -Assists with constructability reviews, system analysis of building components, and MEP Systems -Sets up Bid Day Summaries and General Requirements Set up bid spreadsheets or conceptual spreadsheets to complete a bid -Tracks Value Analysis items from Development/Acceptance/Non-Acceptance/Inclusion into proposal -Improves existing subcontractor relationships and gets to know the subcontractors/suppliers -Reviews and executes bid forms, bid bonds, etc., on bid projects

What You Bring

-Must be able to use strategic and innovative methods to obtain sub coverage for bids, especially in new geographic areas -Accurately takes off as required for CSI Divisions 1-46 -Must be able to lead an estimate and take full charge of either a conceptual or hard bid -Experience with self-performance of concrete and carpentry highly desired -A certain degree of creativity and innovation is required to out plan the competition -Relies on judgment and experience to plan and establish deadlines -At least eight (8) years of experience as an estimator in Commercial Construction -Experience with projects over $15 Million -Familiar with standard concepts, practices, procedures, technology, and programs within the construction field -Proficient in Timberline, OST, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) -Must be able to schedule and train Estimators in all aspects of estimating
