Tasks

-Drive multi-project synergies to optimize the cost and efficiency of technical solutions. -Ensure network infrastructure and overall system solutions meets security, performance, and redundancy requirements for mission-critical transportation systems. -Review and evaluate third-party solutions for compatibility with Hitachi Rail’s ground transportation systems. -Design and oversee the architecture of network solutions that integrate with train control and station subsystems such as CCTV, Passenger Information Systems (PIS), Public Announcement (PA) systems, and Master Clock synchronization. -Oversee the documentation of designs to meet project and customer requirements. -Provide technical guidance and approval for system architecture, ensuring alignment with business and operational needs. -Conduct trade studies to evaluate design alternatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards. -Lead discussions with customers and internal teams to define system and subsystem requirements and architecture. -Define policies, standards, and best practices for engineering teams in collaboration with the Systems Engineering Manager. -Collaborate closely with system integrators, software developers, and hardware vendors to define and implement optimal solutions.

What You Bring

-Understanding of full Systems Engineering lifecycle principles. -Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and technical teams. -Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior network engineering or architecture role. -Strong experience in IT infrastructure design, large-scale networking, virtualization, and containerization. -Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. -Experience with data analytics and machine learning applications in transportation networks. -Industry certifications such as AWS Certification, CISCO Certification (CCNP, CCIE), or equivalent are highly desirable. -Background in project management or system delivery management. -Expertise in architecting complex solutions, including hardware and software integration with focus on networking but understanding in other subsystems -Strong knowledge of network security, redundancy, and failover strategies in mission-critical systems. -Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and handling multiple concurrent projects. -Experience working with transportation communication systems such as SCADA, Public Announcement Systems, Passenger Information Systems, and Tetra Radio. -Membership in relevant professional organizations such as INCOSE or the Institution of Engineers Singapore is preferred. -In-depth understanding of software architectures, including N-Tier Architecture, SOA, and microservices.
