Tasks

-Management and implementation of a wide variety of engineering design and consulting projects. -Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to resolve client design issues. -Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others. -Coordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses, including plan reviews and site visits. -Satisfy client needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks on schedule and within budget. -Preparation and peer review of project-related technical reports. -Assist with business development activities.

What You Bring

-Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection), Architecture, or related field. -Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies. -Ability to work well independently and to interact with other industry professionals, associated trades, and jurisdictional authorities. -Experience in developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews, and conducting field reviews/inspections. -Registered Professional Engineer or other professional designation preferred. We will also consider candidates that have significant industry experience in fire protection and code consultant but are not on the engineering track. -Fire alarm & fire sprinkler design knowledge/experience is a plus. -5+ years of experience in code consulting, design of fire suppression and alarm systems, and developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment is required.
