Tasks

The Site Safety Manager (SSM) will be responsible for managing safety operations at the New Terminal One (NTO) at JFK Airport. This is a licensed Site Safety Manager position and the role is expected to last at least 6 months, with potential for extension beyond that. The SSM will oversee multiple, concurrent, fast-paced, high-profile jobs and ensure that all safety protocols are maintained throughout the project’s duration, which is anticipated to run through May of next year. -Accident and Incident Management: Lead investigations for accidents and incidents, documenting findings and making recommendations to prevent recurrence. -Collaboration: Regularly meet with site teams to review safety performance, address concerns, and recommend improvements. -Safety Inspections and Observations: Conduct daily safety inspections, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations. Perform site walks to observe unsafe work practices and follow up on safety-related issues. -Safety Training and Communication: Conduct Site Safety Orientations and prepare and deliver Toolbox Talks to ensure all workers are informed and educated on safety standards. -Safety Documentation: Draft detailed reports on safety observations and unsafe work practices, maintaining Safety Logbooks and ensuring proper documentation for all safety-related activities. -HASP & JHA Reviews: Review and follow up on Health and Safety Plans (HASP) and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), ensuring proper implementation and execution on-site. -Staff Certifications: Monitor and verify site staff certifications to ensure all personnel are properly trained and certified to perform their assigned tasks safely.
