Tasks

Confers with Account Manager/Project Manager and/or client to determine purpose and function of environment, budget, scope of project, time schedules, project proposals, types of furniture and equipment to be installed, and other factors which affect planning interior environments. Prepares schematic designs, conceptual ideas in the forms of rendered drawings or illustrations, working drawings, product specifications, estimates of material requirements and cost, and presents design to client for review, approval, implementation, and follow-through. A Senior Designer, Wave Team, oversees all design/programming phases of medium to large size design projects and coordinates same into an integrated functional aesthetically pleasing and efficient interior environment which satisfies clients’ needs. Attends design/sales meetings and seminars as needed and/or requested for self-development. Participates with Design Manager/Director on Quality Control Program by performing double-checks of other designers’ work. Attends client meetings as needed, both on-site and off-site. Advises Account Manager/Project Manager and/or client on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, color schemes, and color coordination, and code compliance. Maintains project files and time sheets on all work performed.

What You Bring

Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from four-year college or university with five to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Need working knowledge in all phases of design, drafting, and presentation techniques. Experience with AutoCAD and Configura CET required. Needs thorough knowledge of furniture, interior building materials and finishes, and understanding of resources available. Must be knowledgeable with architectural, mechanical, and electrical plans and specifications to assure coordination of same with interiors (including knowledge of lighting, acoustics, plans, elevations, and details). Integrates findings with knowledge of interior design and formulates environmental plan to be practical, aesthetic, and conducive to intended purposes such as raising productivity, selling merchandise, or improving efficiency of office environment. NCIDQ Certification, Licensed Interior Designer, or Licensed Architect
