Tasks

-Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams -Delivering technical work, either in formal reports or other suitable media -Conducting and overseeing mechanical and electrical system design. Performing calculations to support project delivery -Supporting internal delivery and maintaining excellent customer relations, quality, and programmes. Contributing to bids and proposals -Attending and participating in project meetings, design reviews and HAZOPs -Contributing to the rolling stock strategy and business plan

What You Bring

-Understanding of rail industry standards and regulations -Enthusiasm for a career in Rail Engineering, underpinned by a knowledge and understanding of our sector and work -Experience with rail vehicle testing and commissioning -The aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive -Analytical thought process, and seeking to improve existing ways of working, by finding efficiencies in processes -Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously whilst meeting deadlines -Strong working knowledge of Office, with a demonstrated ability to learn new software within a working environment that utilises 3D design and digital automation -Experience in rolling stock design, development and / or assurance -Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools -Knowledge of sustainability practices and innovations in rolling stock engineering -Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Rail Engineering, General Engineering or Engineering Science -Digital tools and innovative solutions -Working towards Chartership status in a relevant professional engineering body.
