Tasks

-Develop and maintain nuclear surety documentation, including compliance checklists, technical reports, and risk assessments. -Conduct safety analyses to evaluate the reliability and survivability of nuclear systems under hostile conditions (e.g., EMP, ground shock). -Ensure all nuclear surety requirements are accurately reflected in FRDs and program documentation -Support Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling and design reviews to ensure nuclear survivability. -Provide technical expertise during the development of FRDs for the LFs, LCs and other Command and Launch facilities. -Ensure compliance with nuclear surety standards, including AFMAN 91-118, AFMAN 91-119, and AFI 91-101. -Maintain the safety and security of nuclear assets while supporting the modernization efforts of the Sentinel Program. -Collaborate with engineering teams, program managers, and stakeholders to integrate nuclear surety requirements into system designs, operational procedures, and Facility Requirements Documents (FRDs). -Identify potential risks to nuclear safety and security and develop mitigation strategies. -Conduct reviews of technical designs and operational plans to ensure adherence to nuclear safety and security criteria.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and MIL-STD requirements. -Knowledge of EMP shielding and survivability design for nuclear systems is a plus. -Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, nuclear science, or a related technical field -Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and reporting requirements. -Proficiency in technical analysis tools (e.g., FEA software such as ANSYS or Abaqus). -8+ years of experience in nuclear surety compliance, safety, or security for defense programs. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. -Strong knowledge of nuclear surety standards, including AFMAN 91-118, AFMAN 91-119, and AFI 91-101. -Experience supporting the Sentinel Program or similar ICBM modernization efforts is a plus. -Certifications related to nuclear safety, security, or systems engineering are preferred -Experience with nuclear weapon systems, facilities, or communication networks. -Advanced degree preferred but not required
