The Role

Tasks

-Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. -Designs for construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models. -Prepares feasibility study by analyzing engineering design; conducting environmental impact studies; assembling data. -Prepares engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules. -Maintains operations by enforcing project and operational policies and procedures. -Adhere to Sheffler & Company’s principals of business conduct and safety. -Prepares engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data. -Maintains project database by writing computer programs; entering data; completing backups. -Determines project costs by calculating labor, material, and related costs. -Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests. -Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress; inspecting construction site; verifying calculations and placements. -Deal professionally and courteously with all internal and/or external contacts. -Plans, designs, and prepares construction documents for residential and commercial land development projects related to grading plans, street profiles, sanitary and storm water designs, and erosion & sediment pollution control plans, storm water management calculations. -Fulfills project requirements by training and guiding operators.

What You Bring

-Candidates must display excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities and positive customer facing personality to effectively work with clients and team members. -B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university -State Professional Engineer license (P.E.) -Valid driver’s license required. -Candidates must also display strong organizational skills. -5+ years of experience working as a Professional Engineer -Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, Design Skills, Site Development, Planning, Conceptual Skills, Legal Compliance, and Drafting required.
