Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) Coordinator

Supports construction teams with safety, health, and environmental compliance on sites.

Tasks

-Participate in monthly corporate Safety Committee meetings. -Provide safety related training to employees and sub-contractor employees at site level as assigned. -Participates in pre-construction meetings for Layton projects, highlighting project safety needs and issues. -Conducts industrial hygiene surveys as necessary to detect gases and noise, conduct respiration fit tests. -Assist ESH Manager to investigate accidents and serious near misses, collecting initial data relevant to the investigation. -Conducts or assists project team site-specific safety orientations. -Monitors safety conditions and works with the project team to ensure consistent enforcement of OSHA and Layton Construction standards and policies. -Assists project team and case managers with injury management to ensure cost effective industrial medical care is provided. -Monitors workers compensation issues on Layton projects and works closely with the ESH Manager to collect and report timely and accurate information. -Provide support as required to VP-Field Operations and Human Resources personnel to ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, and Worker’s Compensation law.

-Demonstrates good interpersonal relations, maintains effective relationships with others. -BA/BS preferred with at least one year of experience in construction or industrial health and safety programs. -Has good verbal communication skills: Expresses self clearly and effectively when talking with individuals and groups. -Understands and conveys English commands, questions, and instructions regarding safety issues. -Has good written communication skills: Expresses ideas clearly in writing. Uses proper organization and grammar. -Completed OSHA 30-hour training for construction AND Safety Trained Supervisor (STS).
