Manage multi-state union/prevailing wage payroll for 600-700 employees, ensuring compliance.

Tasks

Upload compliance documentation into project-specific payroll tracking systems. Process and submit certified payrolls to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws. Audit automated and manual timecards for accuracy prior to processing. Prepare terminations, manual checks, and payroll adjustments as needed. Collaborate with HR to ensure employee data is accurate and up to date. Ensure contractual obligations and certified payroll reports are submitted accurately and on schedule. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including general contractors, subcontractors, government agencies, and labor unions. Process monthly union fringe reports for payment. Export and import timecard data between timekeeping and payroll systems. Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information. Assist with developing and maintaining departmental, state, and federal reports and records. Review and enter labor allocations reported on timecards. Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and payroll issues. Calculate hours, tax withholdings, deductions, bonuses, and union fringes. The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Payroll Department and ensuring that weekly and certified payrolls are processed accurately and on time. Coordinate year-end processing, reporting, and reconciliation. Review initial job packets for certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements. What You Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred. Experience with multi-state payrolls (CA, NV, AZ) required. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and payroll/timekeeping systems. -Maintain a tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel -Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting preferred. -Current knowledge of applicable federal and state wage and hour laws and taxation -Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment -Demonstrates flexibility to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines through analytical problem solving -Experience with multi-state payrolls (CA, NV, AZ) required. -Understanding of union/non-union and prevailing wage payroll. -Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred. -The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus -Proven time management and follow-through skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines -Display superior written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills -Proficient in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and payroll/timekeeping systems. -Minimum 7-10 years of union/prevailing wage payroll experience required. -Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
