Manage sample receipt, logging, preparation, and chain-of-custody for environmental testing.

Tasks

-Maintain the shipping/receiving area to ensure a safe work environment. -Dispose of samples according to guidelines on a monthly basis to remain in compliance with Environmental Protection Agency and Environmental Health & Safety requirements. -Inspect samples for damage or violated hold times to maintain sample integrity. -Communicate effectively with the couriers. -Perform on-site sampling events as needed. -Interact with Project Managers and clients appropriately and professionally. -Verify that samples are not broken or damaged. -Label samples after log in on an as needed basis. -Receive, log in and label samples, and bottle orders for sign-in and analysis. -Restock supplies when received so supplies are available to employees when needed. -Sample compositing - combining of samples ahead of analytical testing -Incremental Sampling Method (ISM) – utilizing the precise method of sample preparation to adhere to the guidelines required for this technique -Ensure that client signs, dates, and records time on the Chain of Custody when releasing samples. -Count the number of samples when receiving them from clients to make sure that the Chain of Custody and samples match. -Receive and sign the Chain of Custody. -Homogenization – mixing of samples ahead of analytical testing
