The Role

Overview

Operate and maintain natural gas compressor station equipment and ensure safe, reliable gas flow.

Tasks

-Operate internal combustion engines, turbine engines, and related equipment and facilities used to pump and compress natural gas. -May direct compressor station operators or other assigned employees in the performance of assigned duties. -May operate and maintain boilers, performing incidental duties, such as maintaining correct water level, operating auxiliary equipment, checking safety valves, changing charts, etc. -Climb ladders and work from elevated work surfaces. -Change pressures and route gas as directed. -Checks equipment and work area regularly to ensure safety and compliance. Identifies hazards and improvements that could prevent safety problems Evaluates impact of decisions and actions on own and others' safety. -Operate various equipment and tools weighing up to 90 pounds. -Operate all secondary equipment such as water pumps, generators, motors, and heating boilers, etc. -May perform various maintenance duties such as painting, cleaning, polishing, caring for grounds, etc., as required. -Prepare records and reports as required. -May report or direct the reporting of pressures and operating conditions to Gas Dispatcher and keep records or reports. -Support the Company's CHAMPION culture, which centers around personal responsibility, continuous improvement and delivering quality for our customers. -Make minor repairs to engines and equipment, assist in major overhauls as required, and keep tools and equipment in safe and proper working condition.

What You Bring

-Hands on natural gas compressor station experience -This position is required to work a 12-hour rotating shift or other defined schedule. -Ability to crawl, stoop, and work in limited spaces, on scaffolding and in awkward positions. -High School Diploma or GED required. -Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. -This position is subject to callouts, and you must be available and willing to work overtime as required. -Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. -Documented computer skills -Ability to analyze problems, collect accurate data and draw valid conclusions. -Ability to work independently or as a crew member. Identifies safety issues- -Ability to work independently or as a crew member. -Ability to follow mandatory safety rules and standard operating procedures and use personal protective equipment. -Related natural gas industry experience
