Manage residential function at Heathrow Immigration Removal Centre ensuring safety, compliance and staff performance.

Tasks

-Manage and monitor staff to ensure an effective residential service is delivered in line with contractual obligations and company standards. -Participate in Mitie initiatives including succession planning and the talent pipeline as well as contributing to business development opportunities as appropriate within Care and Custody. -Form part of a Duty Director on call roster along with other SMT members, which will include weekend work, for which time off in lieu will be allowed. -Develop, review and manage the implementation of the detainee complaints procedure to ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures. -Manage serious operational incidents assuming the role of Silver Commander in liaison with both C+C and Home Office Gold Command. -Integrate HMIP ‘Expectations' into all key policies and raise awareness with all staff groups in order to embed the principles as appropriate. -Manage financial and commercial aspects within the function, including developing and agreeing budgets and expenditure to ensure financial parameters and company targets are met. -Establish and manage an effective induction process for detainees to support the effective residential environment. -To manage the residential function within the Centre, ensuring a safe, secure and decent environment is provided in line with all legislation, company policies and procedures and all contractual and relevant Home Office standards. -Develop a culture committed to continuous improvement and the delivery of excellent service, by ensuring that audit and compliance activities are firmly embedded within the functional area. -Work with staff across the function and the wider Centre to ensure a culture where people are respected and valued, treated with dignity, developed and recognised so that a safe, inclusive and positive environment is maintained. -Provide advice, coaching and support to staff in order to maximise the efficient and effective operation of the residential function. -Coach and support staff development to maximise staff performance, motivation and contribution. -Lead the provision of a secure, safe, decent and effective residential environment for detainees to ensure that their human rights are valued and all relevant standards are adhered to. -Establish effective communications ensuring that relevant information is processed and disseminated both accurately and to deadline. -Assist in promoting Health & Safety across the Centre to ensure it is embedded within the residential units and its' requirements are met across the Centre.
