Overview

Manage full lifecycle of FACTS assets, including type registration and health reviews.

Tasks

-Engage with suppliers to inform and influence end-to-end lifecycle management of FACTS assets, including type registration, operational & maintenance support, obsolescence management, and refurbishment/replacement. -Lead the development of the Technical Strategy within specific areas of technical expertise. -Support and mentor other team members. -Undertake type registration activities in line with relevant business processes. -Provide detailed, expert technical and asset management knowledge for FACTS devices and systems. -Create and amend policies, technical specifications, work specifications, internal standards, and technical guidance within for FACTS devices and systems. -Represent National Grid on appropriate national and international committees.

What You Bring

-Institute of Asset Management “Principles of Asset Management” certificate. -Proven ability to develop working relationships quickly, effectively, and communicate clearly and diplomatically. -Communicate complex and standard issues associated with the area of expertise clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. -Detailed understanding of the Electricity Transmission Type Registration process and regulatory regime. -Ability to work under challenging deadlines. -Excellent technical knowledge of one or more technical areas relevant to Electricity Transmission, including FACTS devices and systems. -Proven experience of communication with, and influencing, internal and external stakeholders (e.g., regulators, managers). T -Experience and understanding of asset management principles with a proven track record of developing processes that support business risk, cost, and performance decision-making. -Can evidence experience of specification, design, development, maintenance and/or lifetime management of FACTS equipment (e.g. Capacitive compensation, SVCs, STATCOMs). -Proven knowledge and understanding of the principles of Asset Management. -Membership or the ability to be a member of relevant professional body. -Knowledge of Asset Management Systems. -Detailed understanding of regulatory policies, procedures, Technical Specifications, Work Specifications, and Technical Guidance Notes in the area of expertise. -Engineering degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering environment.
