Loader Operator

Overview

Operate loaders to load/unload logs, maintain equipment, and ensure safety at a sawmill.

Tasks

-Perform or assist with weekly preventative maintenance on machinery and complete daily check sheets. -Load and unload logs as directed, ensuring production expectations are met. -Ensure painted and oversized logs are taken to the metal yard, while others are placed back on the log deck. -Perform daily cleanup duties around the metal log field and kick out bin. -Remove logs from the kick out bin daily with the knuckle-boom loader. -Fill in at the Scalehouse as needed, handling various scale functions and log loading/unloading. -Adhere to all safety rules and procedures, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and promoting safe work practices.

What You Bring

-Capable of sitting and/or standing for the entire shift (8-12 hours) and climbing in and out of machinery without assistance. -Comfortable working in varying weather conditions, with exposure to dust, vibration, and high noise levels. -3-5 years of manufacturing experience in an industrial environment operating heavy-duty equipment. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Frequently able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. -Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
