The Role
Overview
Perform repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on rental diesel equipment.

Tasks
-Communicates effectively with Shop Leads, Shop Coordinators and Managers to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status of repairs are understood and followed up on. -Inspects machines returned from rental for customer damage and notifies the supervisors regarding any specific damage that was found. -Assumes yard duties as needed; loads/unloads equipment and cleans returned rental equipment with pressure washer. -Assist in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment and components. -Works overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs. -Inspects equipment and maintains equipment to ensure safe operation. -Learns and understands how to use the work order system. Completes all documents and parts orders associated with repairs in an accurate and timely manner. Identifies parts for return timely. -Adhere to manager’s and lead mechanic’s directions regarding all repairs and service calls. -Reads and understands the manufacturers’ Operation and Maintenance Manual per machine type and complies with its contents. -Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures with appropriate supervision. -Attends training as requested. -Always engages in required safety practices and maintains quality housekeeping in work area.

What You Bring
-Graduation from a technical school with emphasis on diesel engine preferred -Works effectively with others in the shop and accepts helpful technical advice from others with more work experience. -Understanding of diagrams and schematics -Understands the operation, function, specifications, capabilities and controls of any piece of rental equipment to ensure all operating controls and functions are in compliance with manufacturers’ specifications. -Noise: Moderate -High School Diploma or GED -Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Wynne, and ET/SIS/SIS Web/STW -Heavy equipment, engine, or mechanic repair experience -Intermediate diagnostic aptitude -Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills -Basic knowledge of Windows/Internet -Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc. -1+ years administrative/clerical experience -Safety & Product Knowledge -Heavy work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more -Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing -1+ years customer service experience -Work is accomplished to the Service Departments quality standards, within allowed time.
