Electrical Engineer for building projects, handling design, specs, and construction support

Tasks

-Implement design concept through the preparation and production of drawings to detail lighting, power, fire alarm, and specialty low voltage systems rough-ins (i.e. telecom., intrusion control, security, CCTV, door access controls, etc.) -Providing technical and administrative support through all phases of the project -Conduct necessary research to gather industry, field, and project specific data -Progress billing reviews -Preparing electrical drawings and specifications -Ensuring design conforms with all applicable codes and standards. -Attending site meetings and site reviews complete with reports -Developing various types of reports including schematic design, design development, building assessment, and design build/assist scope of work documents -Construction administration responsibilities:Attending site meetings and site reviews complete with reportsShop drawing reviewsSI and CCN preparations.Contractors change quotation reviewsProgress billing reviewsFire alarm verification report reviews -Working with prime consultants, engineering consultants, and contractors; responding to technical queries

What You Bring

-Familiarity with OESC,OBC, IEEE, NFPA, and other industry standards and codes -Holding or the ability to obtain Secret Level security clearance -Familiarity with providing guidance and support for others within a department -Experience with Electrical load calculations, lighting design and analysis a plus -Experience with IES energy modeling tool is desirable -Able to work tight schedules, control project budgets and motivate staff to do the same -Experience in designing electrical power and lighting systems -Prefer an individual with two (2+) with extensive electrical design experience on transportation-related buildings and facilities such as subway stations. -Sound judgment supported by excellent technical, analytical and problem-solving skills -Holding or the ability to obtain Reliability Level security clearance -Some Project Management experience and training desired -Well organized, self-directed work habits with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and schedule tasks managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment -SI and CCN preparations. -Knowledge with power analysis tools such as SKM and/or ETAP -Additional certifications such as LEED, LC, CEM, RCDD etc. are a bonus -Proficient in the use of computers for making engineering calculations, spreadsheets, and report writing -Communications system design experience is a plus -Strong verbal and written communication skills and commitment to technical excellence and quality -Self-motivated and proactive -Analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities -Bachelor's Degree in Engineering -Two (2)+ years of experience in the engineering consulting industry in a building engineering group -Analytical, resourceful and detailed oriented -Ability to communicate, coordinate, and work well with others both internally and externally -Valid driver's license
