The Role

Overview

Ensures safety compliance on field sites and improves safety culture.

Tasks

-Act as subject matter expert for large project pre-job review, walk-through, planning and execution -Perform field visits to job sites to ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local regulations as well as National Grid policies and procedures -Inspect new processes, materials, tools, substances, and equipment to proactively identify hazards -Investigate incidents, injuries, damage to property or other safety-related concerns -Review contractor Health and Safety Plans and suggest improvements before project kickoff -Participate or lead Risk Assessment or Job Hazard Analysis teams

What You Bring

-Certification from Board of Certified Safety Professionals preferred -Must be able to be comfortable presenting to all levels of the organization from crew members to Vice Presidents -Valid driver’s license required -2+ years of related safety experience where safety oversight and responsibility were at least 90% of the job duties required -Cultivate safety and health skills and knowledge of frontline workers -Proven understanding of all related OSHA regulations, DOT regulations, and applicable ANSI standards required -MS Office proficiency required -Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Psychology, or related subject required
