Lead civil designer for residential/site infrastructure projects

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Implement specific project design criteria and coordinate with project design teams consisting of Engineers, CAD Designers and Technicians, and Sub-consultants (if necessary) to successfully complete a project -Responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the design and technical aspects of assigned projects -Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company -Identify, interpret and resolve technical project issues with minimal oversight -Coordinate and assist the Project Manager(s) with overall project schedules and budget constraints for assigned projects through completion -Develop, modify and review models, plans, details and drawings of engineering systems and design components according to established standards -Responsible for Quality Control review of design elements and overall project deliverables prior to external release

-Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications -Extensive knowledge of CAD standards and advanced Civil 3D functionality -Ability to coordinate and lead multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously to make decisions with an understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve successful results and deadlines -Willingness to learn and expand responsibilities -Proficiency with MS Office and email -Ability to train and mentor CAD Drafters/Technicians and Engineering Interns -Ability to analyze, interpret, and stay abreast of latest regulations and criteria for local, state, and federal regulatory agencies -Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of residential and site projects of advanced complexity in relation to overall site drainage, grading, and infrastructure constraints -Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school -Certification in CAD software and specific Civil 3D platform -Thorough knowledge and experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft office platforms -10 years’ experience related to specific CAD and Civil 3D software required, with at least 5 years’ experience in detailed land development engineering; GIS experience is preferred -Ability to work both independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team with input and support from the Manager(s)
