The Role

Overview

Support rail projects by designing track/civil plans, specs, and estimates.

Tasks

-Support local and national projects for both transit and freight railroad clients. Project types include streetcar and light rail lines, heavy rail passenger and commuter lines, freight capacity projects, yards, terminals, maintenance facilities, stations, and more. -Take responsibility for civil and track engineering assignments, including drainage, structural and utilities tasks. -Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Manager. -Support Rail Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates. -Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects. -Follow a project from concept, through design, and on to construction. -Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed.

What You Bring

-MS Office Applications experience -Basic knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD -Bachelor's degree -Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. -Prefer basic knowledge of InRoads/InRail, OpenRail Designer, and/or Civil3D
