The Role

Overview

Perform preventive maintenance & repairs on commercial standby generators.

Tasks

-Operate a company vehicle and complete fleet maintenance reports as required -Maintain accurate records of all inspections, maintenance, and repair work performed -Visually inspect and diagnose issues with natural gas and/or gasoline-powered standby commercial generators -Communicate effectively with management, team members, and clients to ensure clear understanding of service needs and solutions -Provide service and repair recommendations to maintain equipment in optimal working condition -Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, battery replacements, and servicing of belts, spark plugs, and other mechanical components -Conduct load bank testing to ensure generator performance under load -Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams -Educate end users on proper generator operation and basic maintenance procedures

What You Bring

-Demonstrate knowledge and experience with CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or Detroit Diesel generator systems -Must possess personal hand tools required to perform mechanical work and voltage testing -Minimum of eight years of recent experience performing commercial generator maintenance -Demonstrate working knowledge of both DC and AC voltage systems -Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and motor vehicle background check -Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment -Troubleshoot and service Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) with proficiency -Willingness to commute to various job sites using company vehicles within Orange County, Los Angeles County, and/or the Inland Empire -Basic understanding of NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and general electrical safety practices -Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal, for preparing reports and emails
