Overview

Support design of transportation projects as an entry‑level civil engineer.

Tasks

-Support senior engineers and project managers on interdisciplinary design projects, including preparing design drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and reports. -Assist in the design of roadway and rail alignments, cross sections, grading, drainage systems (hydraulics and hydrology), utilities, and traffic control plans. -Participate in design/bid/build and permitting processes, coordinating with subconsultants, monitoring schedules and budgets, and ensuring quality standards are met. -Use design software such as Bentley MicroStation, InRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and AutoTurn to produce high-quality deliverables. -Collaborate with internal technical disciplines and occasionally interface with clients, contractors, and agency representatives.

What You Bring

-Technical Skills:Proficiency in AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation, Microsoft Office Suite, and GIS.Understanding of roadway/highway/rail design principles.Knowledge of vertical and horizontal alignments, grading, drainage, stormwater design, and utility layout.Familiarity with hydrology/hydraulic modeling and pavement design is a plus. -Understanding of roadway/highway/rail design principles. -Knowledge of vertical and horizontal alignments, grading, drainage, stormwater design, and utility layout. -Familiarity with hydrology/hydraulic modeling and pavement design is a plus. -Proficiency in AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation, Microsoft Office Suite, and GIS. -Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. -Certifications: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred. -Experience: 0–3 years of professional experience in transportation, roadway, or site design.
