The Role

Overview

Manage groundwater projects, client development, and technical delivery in MT.

Tasks

-Develop hydrogeologic models, groundwater sustainability plans, water supply assessments and strategies. -Grow market and technical presence within the region, prioritize client pursuits, build client relationships, provide client management, identify opportunities, and support proposal pursuits. Conduct groundwater resource evaluations. -Planning and managing projects and participating in client and regulatory meetings. -May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear -Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist -Coordinate well permitting, drilling, design, construction, testing, sampling, rehabilitation and/or abandonment. -Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers. -Analyze aquifer pumping test data and interpret borehole geophysical data; apply interpretation results to project and assess potential impacts of groundwater withdrawals on nearby users and the resource. -Manage multi-disciplinary resources to deliver high quality projects that meet or exceed clients' expectations. -Analysis and interpretation of well testing data, model results, geophysical data, and hydrogeological data and preparation of plots and reports. -Develop, design, calibrate, and interpret groundwater flow and predictive modeling results. -Analyze data using a variety of techniques such as GIS, geo-statistics, statistics, or time-series analysis. -Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight -Perform a variety of roles within project delivery (project management, QA/QC, and performing) related to groundwater and water resources engineering. -Providing technical support for well drilling, wellhead protection, water rights, geologic and hydrogeologic investigations, hydrogeologic testing, geologic and hydrogeologic visualization, analytical and numerical groundwater flow modeling, contaminated sites investigations, and development of conceptual site models.

What You Bring

-Registration as a Professional Engineer in Montana or ability to obtain within 6 months. -Demonstrated experience pursuing and winning water resources projects through the competitive RFP/Q process. -8+ years of technical experience and knowledge in groundwater modeling and water resources planning. -Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. -Proven track record of successfully completing tasks and projects that are on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations. -Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook). -Knowledgeable in drilling, design, construction, testing, evaluation, and rehabilitation of large-capacity water supply wells. -All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. -Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. -Knowledge of state and federal environmental groundwater and water planning regulations. -Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time -Experienced in high-yield supply well design, groundwater impact assessments, evaluation, and modeling. -Strong communication skills. -May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds -Experience obtaining and evaluating well construction, borehole geophysical and pumping test data related to the construction, development and testing of deep, large diameter production wells, primarily in unconsolidated sediments. -Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain -Understand and have experience executing site and remedial investigations, risk assessments, feasibility and treatability studies -May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town -Groundwater and surface water appropriation permitting. -Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development. -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, hydrology, geology, or related field.
