Overview
Oversee fitness operations, programs, staff, and guest services at a hotel health club.

Tasks
-Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times. -Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner. -Ensure the cleanliness of the fitness areas and necessary maintenance of fitness equipment. -Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees. -Train health club employees as necessary. -Assist in monitoring and evaluating health club employee performance. -Provide instruction on equipment use as needed. -Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings. -Assist with sales and marketing to promote health club sales. -Supervise all group activities (aerobic classes, etc.). -Plan, coordinate, supervise and direct special events and programs for members and corporate games for hotel guests. -Conduct fitness testing and complimentary orientation workout and exercise prescription upon member and hotel guest request. -Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. -Maintain inventory for professional services while controlling cost and avoiding excess product usage. -Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions. -Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. -Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag. -Schedule health club employees according to business demands and Highgate Hotel guidelines.

What You Bring
-Hygiene is key in this environment due to the close proximity of working with the clients. At no time is cigarette smoke allowed to be on the hands, clothes or breath of a spa employee during a shift. -Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information. -Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests. -Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas. -Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. -Previous supervisory responsibility preferred. -Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. -Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. -Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives. -At least six years progressive experience in a related field; and/or a 4-year college degree and/or 4 years experience and continuing education units; and/or field certification required. -Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs. -Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner. -High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field required.
