The Role

Overview

Oversee equipment service operations, maintenance, budgeting and staff for heavy‑construction fleet.

Tasks

-Plans, organizes, and manages the work of the Service business unit to ensure the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational expectations and requirements. -Ensures the operational availability of fleet equipment. -Manages department costs, including, but not limited to, tires, undercarriages, major components, and shop supplies. -Ensure positive morale and engagement of employees. -Ensures work is performed accurately to manufacturer recommended standards and in compliance with company policies and procedures. -Develop and maintain vendor list and continuously monitor overall quality of service provided. -Keep current on new technologies as they relate to management of equipment and apply accordingly. -Processes invoices promptly and oversees business unit budget processes. -Secures, analyzes and approves vendor quotes and estimates for services, tools, parts, and supplies. -Works in an office environment at the Corporate office, in the field or at vendor site locations. -Identifies resources, assigns workloads, and manages schedules to ensure timely delivery of service work performed. -Monitors and control inventory levels of parts, tools, and supplies. -Maintains a safe working environment in compliance with Federal, State and Local regulation , including DOT, OSHA and MSHA. -Assist in employee recruitment, performance management, promotions, retention, and termination activities. -Develops and enforces best practices within the Equipment Service business unit to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness. -Monitors field and shop service repair jobs and hours including closing all work orders in a timely manner . -Responsible for personal and professional development to stay ahead of the competition in our industry. -Controls and evaluates department profit and loss, including capital expenditures.

What You Bring

-Moderate noise levels. -Thorough knowledge of cost tracking and equipment life cycles. -Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain rapport. -This position reports to the Corporate office and is required to travel to various jobsite locations and equipment vendors 15% of the time. -Applies knowledge to warranty items, warranty requests, and coordinate warranty repairs. -Bachelor's Degree in Equipment Service Management or Business Management preferred. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -Experience with ERP system – Visa Viewpoint Preferred. -Excellent organizational and time management skills. -Communicates and acts with a team-oriented mentality. -Proficient with computer systems as they relate to utilization of scheduling of manpower/resources, implementation of preventative maintenance programs, inventory management systems, along with MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. -Strong leadership and team building skills. -Must have and maintain a valid state issued Driver’s License with driving record that meets Saiia’s risk management guidelines. -Communicates and adheres to Company values and vision. -Minimum ten years of experience in servicing heavy equipment in the construction industry or dealership environment.
