The Role

Overview

Industrial electrician installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting AC/DC control systems and conduit.

Tasks

-Complete records and inventory of supplies necessary for performance of jobs. -Maintain and repair plant instrumentation. -The person in this position needs to frequently move about client’s facilities and offices to access equipment and complete tasks. -Conduct daily safety risk assessments on routine and non-routine job tasks. -Perform preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance on electrical devices and other equipment. -Consistently ascend and descend portable and fixed ladders, scaffolding and other equipment used to reach equipment at various levels of height some of which maybe in excess of 25 feet in a safe manner. -Develop wiring diagrams as necessary. -Perform all aspects of maintaining overhead crane systems. -Install, maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems including installing (rigid) conduit and wirings, motors, instrumentation, recording devices, starters and temporary wiring setups. -Diagnose and correct electrical malfunctions so as to maintain equipment in a state of operating effectiveness. -Use precision instrumentation such as voltmeter, ammeter, megger, wattmeter, etc. -Install, maintain and repair a wide variety of cranes, elevators, power doors, hoists and related equipment. -Occasionally lift and move equipment in excess of 100lbs in a safe manner. -Maintain personal work tools. -Frequently move tools and equipment weighing up to 50lbs across client facilities as needed to complete tasks.

What You Bring

-Minimum of journeymen papers for electrician or 5 years industrial electrician experience. -OSHA 10 certification is required or ability to obtain certification. -The ability to balance your work and family activities. -Proven ability to work in a safe manner, adhere to safe practices. -Must be able to remain in a stationary position as necessary to complete assigned tasks. -Complete knowledge of all current and voltage characteristics such as single phase, 3 phase, 110v, 220v, 440, 12.5KV and d.c. voltage. -High school diploma or GED equivalent. -Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions as needed. -Knowledge of National Electric Code, NFPA 70E and other applicable safety and industry codes. -Must be able to ascend and descend a large quantity of stairways at any given time. -Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client sites. Sites are primarily around Baltimore and occasionally surrounding areas such as DC, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Delaware, etc. -Working knowledge of solid state circuitry and programmable controllers.
