Tasks

-Coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal design teams to meet project goals -Provide technical assistance and manage the engineering design of transportation and related infrastructure projects -Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for roadway and site development projects -Provide responsive and clear communication both internally and externally -Ensure design compliance with AASHTO, RIDOT, and other applicable design standards and policies -Support permitting efforts with RIDEM, CRMC, and other regulatory agencies -Mentor and train junior staff to build technical and professional capabilities -Perform detailed design tasks including preparation of plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates

What You Bring

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transportation Engineer to support and lead the technical aspects of a wide range of transportation and infrastructure projects. This position is ideal for a civil engineer with strong design capabilities and a passion for delivering high-quality, efficient, and sustainable transportation solutions. -Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with AASHTO and RIDOT design policies (MassDOT experience a plus) -Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline -Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics, roadway drainage design, and construction practices -5+ years of relevant engineering experience in transportation or civil design -Strong background in transportation and civil engineering design -Travel within New England as needed to support project activities -Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively within a team -Understanding of RIDEM and CRMC permitting requirements -Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills -EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred -Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
