Maintain and service commercial HVAC systems at Houston Community College.

Tasks
Ensure adherence to safety procedures, building codes, and environmental regulations. Respond to work orders and service calls in a timely and professional manner. Maintain detailed service logs and maintenance records in accordance with HCC procedures. May involve evening, weekend, or overtime work to meet operational needs. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and service on HVAC and refrigeration equipment including air handlers, pumps, VAV systems, and building controls. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency requests outside normal business hours, as needed. Operate and monitor Building Automation Systems (BAS) for system performance and energy efficiency. Provide support during special campus events requiring HVAC system adjustments. Diagnose and repair routine HVAC issues; escalate complex problems to senior technicians or supervisors. What You Bring
2-4 years of experience in commercial or institutional HVAC maintenance and repair. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in HVAC or related field preferred. Valid Texas Driver’s License. Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS) such as Siemens or Johnson Controls. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Requires bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces. Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals. Skilled in safe use of HVAC tools, diagnostic instruments, and refrigerant handling. EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required. Work performed indoors and outdoors, including rooftops and mechanical spaces, with exposure to varying weather conditions. Working knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, equipment, and controls. HVAC apprentice or journeyman license preferred.
